Carrier-neutral data services provider AIMS Group announced its offering of private network connections to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect service.
This will enable customers in Malaysia to set up a dedicated network connection to AWS cloud from on-premises datacentre, office or co-location environment. In many cases, AWS Direct Connect can reduce network costs, increase bandwidth throughput and provide a more consistent network experience than Internet-based connections, said AIMS in a statement.
Businesses can operate both a public and private environment with some resources stored on the cloud using public IP address space and critical resources run on Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) using private IP space. These virtual interfaces can be reconfigured at any time to meet changing needs.
“We are honoured to provide the service in Malaysia so that businesses can leverage the elasticity of AWS Cloud to manage their IT resources,” said AIMS Group chief executive Chiew Kok Hin. “AIMS always focused on building an ecosystem of partners and customers that mutually benefit each other’s business.
“Our carrier neutral status offers clients the ease to connect with more than one telco, creating a unique multi-beneficial ecosystem of international and local clients from industries such as media, content, financial institutions, multinationals, tourism, gaming and more,” Chew said.
AWS Direct Connect is important and strategic to AIMS’ ecosystem, he added. “We always listen to our customers’ concerns and wish list. We believe AWS Direct Connect will benefit both our existing and future customers,” he said.
