NEC Asia Pacific has announced that Tetsuro Akagi has been appointed its new chief executive officer, with effect from April 1.
He will be responsible for business operations and expansion in the Asia Pacific region, the company said in a statement.
He has also been appointed a senior vice president of NEC Corp. He had previously been NEC Australia managing director, from January 2014.
Singapore-based NEC Asia Pacific is the regional headquarters for NEC Corp.
Akagi has held various senior positions in sales, financial, operational and business management roles in both Japan and other countries since he joined NEC over 30 years ago.
He possesses international experience in sales, business planning and management functions gained in the United States, Hong Kong, China and Australia, NEC Asia Pacific said.
“The Asia Pacific region represents a strong future for NEC and I hope to continue to work closely with our NEC country affiliates in the region, strengthening relationships with existing customers while expanding our businesses,” said Akagi.
Matsuki has been appointed to executive vice president of NEC Corporation and president of NEC Global Business Unit, also effective April 1.
